Be Careful What You Are Wishing For?

I am all for cleaning up the mess the environment is in but lets back up for a few seconds and think about what our politicians and other influential persons are trying to sell us (think of Mr. Large - former U.S.-V.P. Al Gore). Why is it that all of a sudden they are so interested? THink Carbon Credits For Sale! Did someone say sale? If the Premier of Ontarion is on board there has to be some type of cash reward involved (tax). If you think you are getting screwed by the big oil companies, wait until they get this ball rolling. You won't even be able to take a breath without having to pay the man. Some carbon speculator out of New York or Europe or wherever is going to be raking in the dough on creating a market value. He/she has just likely graduated and is looking to make a name for him/herself and will do anything to make the new market prices rise. You think gas is expensive, wait until you start payig the GST, PST etc. on this.

This is much more than stopping people from smoking or making legal firearms owners register their guns. This is about creating something out of nothing in order to grab a pile of cash from people that do not have the time to fight back and say "no this is not such a great idea after all".
I'll continue to practice the 3R's but I'm willing to take the fighting major for this one.

Governments given an inch will ALWAYS take more. Be careful what you are wishing for when it comes to our environment. For the people who are saying they are doing this for YOU, it could be just another way to diminish your rights and grab some more of your hard earned cash once again.
